Jim Robertson manages the Urban Design Division in the City of Austin’s Neighborhood Planning and Zoning Department. The Urban Design Division handles a wide variety of streetscape and public realm projects, and manages planning projects with a significant urban design component including the Downtown Austin Plan, Station Area Plans for Austin’s commuter rail system, the Waller Creek District Master Plan, and corridor plans. Jim is a registered architect, and practiced architecture for ten years before coming to work for the City. Prior to receiving his masters degree in architecture, Jim practiced environmental law – with a non-profit environmental group, with the U.S. Department of Justice, and with a private law firm.
